MaxGauge offers a feature through which you can intuitively compare and analyze the functions of WEB, Application Server, and DB by each section in real time, from the point of the business transaction. Based on this feature, the performance manager will be able to immediately distinguish the problem section when performance-related issues arise, and further identify the causes and the details of the problem within the section, using a top down method.
In MaxGauge, the monitoring agent in DB, which is connected to Application Server, becomes driven and collects both Application Server and DB’s performance data. Through the collected data, you can check the status of the application currently running and clearly distinguish whether the problem of the application being delayed lies in DB or Application Server.
MaxGauge provides a feature through which you can easily analyze the cause of application’s memory leak. It periodically collects the memory usage data by each application and object and illustrates them in trend format, so as to identify which application is occupying the memory for an extended time.
MaxGauge provides real time monitoring for the business transaction’s entire sections, while minimizing the load on the operating system. It also provides various indicators for performance monitoring such as elapsed time and detailed profiling data by each section.
MaxGauge can monitor by collecting the various types of errors generated during Application Server operation. Not only the errors in JVM itself, but external errors can be monitored as well by setting up the log file monitoring.
MaxGauge is driven by loading onto the Application Server in a class format. Unlike other APMs, MaxGauge’s CPU usage is as low as 1~3% range, even as it is collecting the application’s detailed profiling data while the system is running. Also, the additional memory usage is a meager amount of about 30~40 Mbyte.
MaxGauge is composed of an agent which collects the server’s performance data, and the repository which provides the UI that gathers and analyzes the collected data. The agent is in a class format, implemented based on the AOP (Aspect Oriented Programming). In the case of repository, the Oracle 10g Enterprise or higher, MS SQL 2008 Enterprise or higher, and PostgreSQL DB are supported.

MaxGauge can monitor servers with JAVA 1.4 or higher.
MaxGauge is a web-based tool. Therefore, a separate installation on the user PC is not necessary. To begin MaxGauge performance monitoring, simply enter the MaxGauge monitoring URL on either Internet Explorer 8 or higher, or Chrome.
